That depends on the school. Some colleges take the average. Some take the highest total score. And some take the highest of each individual score (i.e. if you get an 800 in math and a 500 in verbal one test, then you retake the test and get a 500 in math and an 800 in verbal, they’ll take the 800 for each). You should call the school’s admissions office and see what they do.
