I got a 17 on my ACT, is that a bad score? Should I re-take the test?

tips:
english: be sure to understand the passages as a whole. at the end of a passage sometimes they will ask if “paragraph 3 should go where paragraph 2 is” or something like that. pay close attention.
math: the people that make up this section try to throw you off on purpose. do not look at the answers before you solve the problem. solve the problem, come up with an answer, and look for it out of your 4 choices. hopefully it will be there. if you look at the answers before, you become biased and come to a point in the problem where you think answer C is close enough and choose it beginning a downward spiral of failing.
Reading:
the reading section is composed of 4 passages regarding different topics prose fiction, social sciences, humanities, and some other science one about nature. which one do you usually do the best on? which one do you do 2nd and 3rd best on? DO NOT complete the one you do worst on–just guess C,C,C, etc.— you don’t have time to waste, and trust me, the extra time you spend on the other sections will come in handy. ( if you do all 4 sections–10 question each–you only have 8 and 1/2 minutes per passage) people who do this “skip a section” method earn an average of 3 points better on their reading score. if you do this and are still running out of time look for the questions that say something like “In lines 23-55…” and answer those because you can find the answers right away and don’t have to think of the passage as a whole.
remember, when reading the passage think of it as a whole and try to reach a conclusion about what the passages main point is. don’t focus on details. that wastes time.
last but not least the dreaded science section:
this section is ridiculous. i think everyone agrees. but think about it…..all the answers are right in front of you on the graphs and charts. you need no prior knowlege. hmmm….that means if you get a practice ACT book and do a few 100 of them, you might actually find that they aren’t so hard.
hope this helps. remember that time is in short supply—be sure not to become so immersed in your work that you forget about that clock.
just relax next time and you’ll do fine. oh, i almost forgot–GUESS IF YOU DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER.
i know u can do it!!!
