I am starting school soon, and I know this sounds dumb, but it asks for a Fraction Calculator, what is it?
Is it the same as a decimal calculator?

Not dumb at all. It is a calculator the that works with fractions, by multipling, subtracting, etc. E.g. 1/4 plus 1/2 = 3/4 which is pretty easy. If you need the area of plywood that is 47 15/16 x 84 15/16, a fraction calculator will help you. I use on in my shop and it works great.

Hi,
A fraction calculator is pretty much the same as any other, except it can also display decimals as fractions and use fractions in calculations. It’s usually one of the functions provided by “scientific” calculators. At the risk of sounding nerdy, mine is a Casio fx-85MS. If you’re in the UK like I am, a good indicator is if it says “suitable for GCSE/A Level” exams on the front. If all else fails, try Casio’s website and search for “scientific calculator”.
Hope this helps 😉
