I got a 1690. This is the new SAT with the the writing section. It was my first time. Should I take it again?

…depends on the college(s) you want to apply to. Your scores aren’t terrible, but I bet they could be better yet with a little practice testing and studying!

Absolutely – you will be competing really hard to get in to a college as a freshman and you need every advantage you can get. If testing is not your thing, you might consider going to a community college for the first two years, and then transferring to a 4-year college. It will be cheaper, and it will take the pressure off.

Considering it was your first time taking it, you have hope. I would suggest you study for it ( buy a book or take a course), then take it over.
