How can I prepare for an English admission test?

I grew up in Canada in a French environment, I went in French schools and now I just moved out of Canada. I sent an admission to an American high school to study my 12th year there.

Monday I will do a 4 hour English test and if I fail it I can’t get in the school. I am very worried about this as I have no idea what to expect in this test. The school was very impressed with my English grades but over half of my class had over 90% in English and most of them could even order a Big Mac in a McDonald’s, these English classes were a real joke.

How can I prepare myself for this test? It will be held on Monday morning but as I never did this kind of test I don’t know what to expect.

Thanks in advance for everyone’s help.

Contact your the school and see if they will give you more information about the test.

They might be able to provide you with a copy of a past exam.

The school should take your French schooling background into account.

You might try to get a hold of some reviews for the High School Equivalency Test (GED)and SAT and concentrate on the English test.

The main thing for you to do now is to stop worrying. The English that you used in your question is good and worry will not solve anything it will just make you nervous when you take the test.

Good luck even though I think that you will not need it.
