(Illinois EMT-B Exam) HELP on Studying…?

Does anyone, who currently took an EMT-B Exam (State or National) have any suggestions on a good study guide/program to purchase? Need a little bit more practice; not the best on taking tests. My EMT-B State Exam for Illinois is in late October. If you know something that helps a lot please refer it to me; thanks a lot.

this place is free… it has all kinds of things from practice to reviews… in my state we do the emt-iv, but this site helped me a whole lot, although it did not go along with my book, but the chapters even in different order are the same… if you want to purchase something, there is an nremt guide that is green, it worked great too, but here is this site, explore it a little bit!! http://www.emtb.com/9e/

also, most emt books come with an online testing guide. check that out, thats what we used for testing!!

When I was in the police academy, we always held the certification stuff at the police academy on weekends. I would volunteer to be a victim because I was broke during the academy and it was easy money. I have never taken an EMT class in my life. But I can tell you what they look for. They always dinged people who weren’t hands on. If you were supposed to be checking for an injury, and you never touched the person, you would probably fail that station. Take your time, I never saw anything timed. Don’t take forever, but go over everything in your head. Start from the beginning and work to the end. They aren’t setting you up to final, but they do expect that you know your stuff. Grab a friend, girlfriend, whatever. Sit them down a couple times a week and run through the basics. Also consider a ride along with a local ambulance serve. Seeing EMTs in action in the real world might make things click for you. As for the written part. No idea, make some flash cards, study em’ a couple times a day and you will be fine.

Richard Moore and Nicki Hopkins asked the same question. You should read the answers side by side.
