For a more subjective evaluation, I took the test 4 times total, (granted, with about a year in between each testing)– twice in Januarys, once in December, and the last time my senior year in October. I wouldn’t say one test seemed harder or easier than the others, except in as much as I was a year older each time, lol. And my highest score by 150 points was that last time in October.
In each test you take, you have a raw score and that’s adjusted to give you the score they send back to you. You’ll understand if you skim through Practice Tests in Princeton Reviews and such. I think the real reason behind this myth is: The more you think about how hard something is, the more nervous you get. And the more nervous you get, the worse you’ll do. Maybe that’s why October’s supposedly the hardest–because it’s one of the few chances Seniors have left before application deadlines. Simply, just be positive, prepared, and well rested and fed. I’m one of those Seniors. No one gave me advice soon enough, and I was left on my own.
