It can be for State Universities you have to get only A+’s to get a 4.0 and A is only worth 3.7 an A- 3.5 and down from there… So I would say it’s hard, because there are professors who don’t give many A’s. In community college though, it isnt that hard.

I got into a University with a 2.8 GPA which didn’t even meet that University’s requirement. So, it is possible! First since you are a junior make sure your grades steadily approve instead of decline. Second make sure you have something else going for you, get involved in some kind of community activity and/or sports activity and/or club. If you still don’t have the GPA requirement most schools allow you to write an additional essay explaining your grades. Don’t say the stuff about how it’s hard for you to concentrate, stick to what you do well, stick to that your grades improve. Explain why they are bad, you had to help with family or something honorable. And if you take advanced classes then it is expected for you to get a little bit worse grades but note that at least you were challenging yourself. And if that doesn’t work you can always call the Admissions department. The school I went to had a special program that admitted students who didn’t meet such requirements. Remember that when one admission criteria is low other criteria counts more. This will mean there will be more weight placed on your essay, your SAT/ACT scores, your involvement in the community, etc… Hope this helps.

It depends on your major and the classes you take. It’s a lot easier to get a 4.0 if you have a major that allows for a large amount of electives and general education classes. General education classes are made for everyone; major classes are made for people that are going into the subject. So, major classes are harder than any other class, most often. It doesn’t matter if you are going into a community college or a university. If you go into an engineering program at community college, it’s probably harder to get a 4.0 than getting one in a sociology major in a university.

So, if you take a demanding major, it is hard. If you take an easier major, it’s not as hard. Their are some other variables, like professors and the grading scale, but that’s the major factor in how hard a 4.0 is to get.

No not hard just challenging. Last year was my first year of school in 12 years and I earned 4.0. What I appriciated was the fact that most of the professors provide the work that will be expected for the entire semester. That let me stay 1 or 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Just do exactly as you are asked and you will be fine.

Duhh, In high school you can be in the top 10 percent and make a 4.00. In college it depends on your major. If you are in Engineering for example, the top 10 percent in high School would make you an average student and you’d have to work hard to get a 3.00.

If on the other hand if you major in Art appreciation or underwater basket weaving. Making a 4.00 might be easier than high school.

4.0 I would die for it, but I do have a 3.2, you have to be really snart to get that 4.0, as I think the math in college is totally off base with what is actually required in a job, but this is only my opinion.

Its not that hard, but you do have some teachers that just dont like you, or make it almost impossible. not one person in my environmental science class got an A. She was a very strict grader…Messed up everyones GPA
