Do all special education students need an EDP (Educational Development Plan?) NOT AN IEP, this IS different.?

I’m a special ed teacher, but I wondered about this.

Are you talking about the schools ‘intervention team program’ that all schools have for ‘at risk’ kids who do NOT have IEP’s?

If so, these teams have ‘plans’ to help the child and it could be called ‘EDP’.

And, if this is the team you are talking about, kids who are special ed are NOT suppose to have this plan.

I am very familiar with special ed and I have never heard of this.

Please elaborate on this??

I don’t know about outside of NYC but in NY we call it an IEP and every child in special education has an IEP. Whether or not your child is in the public school system or is in a private school for children with Learning disabilities. I have no Idea if it’s something different or whether or not it’s just a matter of semantics where ever the person lives. Maybe all states call them something different but with the same general meaning.

yes all special needs students need a plan. I dont think there is a difference, some states call them different things. For example Ilinois call BED students SED.

I am a Special Needs TA.
