My DS is 3 & his speech development was delayed. When I say WAS, I mean that in the last 3-4 mos there has been a SURGE in progressive sentence formation & words.

He would say things backwards, this is called “backing”. For instance the word “big” became “guy”. This worried me.

So he went in for an evaluation through the school district (all districts are responsible ofr kids 3-5). His screening was in June, he wasapproved for an evaluation which is next week. IF approved for speech delay, etc he will get into preschool for free to help him w/ his speech and any other developmental delays.

Call your local school district & you have to start with the special education department, they will tell you where to go from there.

I’m not in CA, but AZ. THis is the rule of thumb across the entire country however.
