why is the phrase ‘idk my bff jill?’ becoming sort of famous and being used a lot?
It’s just from a commercial. Why is everyone saying it now though? Do they just think it’s funny or something?

It’s from the commercial. And yes, it’s because it’s funny.
Both the actresses playing the girl and the mom were great.

Number one, it comes from a funny commercial. And funny commercials have always been picked up and repeated to death. (Ex: I can’t believe I ate the whole thing — which was before your time.) It is fairly unusual, tho, for marketers to pick up the lingo of teens well enough to use it in a commercial, so it has a lot of novelty and humor. See marketer’s blog link.

yea ppl think its funny, its just like when that orbit gum commercial came out “who are you calling a cootie queen u lint-licker” ppl alwayz went around saying that, now they go around saying “idk my bff jill”, they just think its funny, and its kinda like a catch phrase, but “idk my bff jill” phrase isnt funny, the “lintlicker” phrase was wayyy funnier, hope this answers ur question
