Read that alongside this one: “The woman seeking equality with man, lacks ambuition!” and, “Law and enactment can’t give anymore power to women than has already been given by God and nature!”

The quote by John Lennon more popular in recent times, is :”A lot of money cannot buy a lot of happiness!” (words to that effect!)

As a quote it is confusing, but it is in fact the title of the song. The song is about women’s rights, and takes the stand that the abuse that black people face has been faced by women all over the world for all time. I think he chose a strange way to express this, since it kind of makes it seem like he’s demeaning the racial issue in exchange for the gender issue. I’m sure that wasn’t his intent, but it still is a little irksome.

That isn’t just a quote, its a song and it lambasts the perceived traditional role of woman’s subservience to man across all cultures. Good for you, John and Yoko Ono!

it means that women always suffer. they dont have equal rights with men. women usually abused and used. sometimes they are not given a chance to prove thier worth.

but now that qoute is no longer exist because women now are empowered.they are already in corporate ladder, a good leaders, famous and excel in many things.

you sound like a real reporter……taking a quote out of context….as a quote it is misleading …but the song in reality is about the way men have been treating women over the centuries..and he is right…
