It means that it is better to be a nice person than one who is forgotten.

Basically, it means the uncles and aunts are people who do something out of the goodness of their heart, not hoping for anything in return…. rather than just what’s “expected” of the spiritual fathers and mothers, who may be doing it out of a sense of obligation only.
