Another option would be to select non-fiction writing or journalism which would help you with anything you would choose to publish and which could provide minimal income while you pursue a PhD.

If you want employment at a decent wage when you graduate, a business minor in public relations could be a compliment.

If you are going to work in the field of psychology, then you want to take anything that will help you work toward your PhD like scientific research, writing, clinical studies, or social work .

Marketing if you want to work in the business sectors.

Sociology and/or anthropology if you want to work for NGO, Charity, human research.
