Can someone help me with an Odyssey Book 10 Quotation?

I need a 5-6 sentence analysis on this quotatation “Or swear me first a great oath, if I do, you’ll work no more enchantment to my harm.” So far I have written….. The Greeks’ thousands of years ago valued honesty and were determined to uphold it to the highest power by keeping their promise no matter what happened. In today’s society, no one would trust a wicked witch to keep her word and would most likely betray their own to defeat the witch. The analysis needs to include an opinion about this among others. Thanks for anyone who helps!!!

When the Greeks swore by the Gods, they knew the consequences of oath-breaking: absolute destruction of themselves and those they held dear by “The Merciful Ones”–the Furies! No one was above divine law. The greatest crime was hubris, “excessive pride leading to Nemesis,” according to the dictionary in my computer.

If Circe, or anyone else, swore an oath, you could accept their word.
