You might but it would be very difficult and unlikely if you are making any C’s. I was denied admission to UNC Chapel Hill. Granted, I went to public school but I did dual enrollment classes at my local junior college. In case you are not familar with the term, dual enrollment is where you take college credit classes during high school and the classes count as college credits and high school credits. I made A’s in all of these classes plus I graduated with a 3.94 GPA, was involved in a few extracurricular activities, had an ACT score of 29, and held down a part time job to boot and they still rejected me. They are a very, very selective school. Of course, you still have a chance. Basically, what my rejection letter said, they were impressed with my scores and transcripts but that year there were several other applicants who were just more qualified and they had limited room. My advice to you would be to keep on studying, bring your GPA up as high as you can, and apply anyways. The worst they could say is no and you would never get an answer if you don’t try.

thats where i want to go too. grades really count because unc chapel hill is a very prestigoius university and not only do grades count but the overall person that u are. like if u’ve been actively involved with the community with community service, if you join a lot of clubs and if u are actively involved in them. all of those things count too. best of luck w/ everything

im currently a student at UNC CH the thing is they look more heavily at class rank and course load than actual grades, and your weighted GPA is very important theyd rather u make Cs in AP classes than u make As in a class thas like slack. personally my first 2 years of high school i think i had 6 Cs and a 3.3 weighted my last 2 years i had a 5.6 weighted, pretty much if u screwed up freshmen and sophomore year its ok they want to see your grade trends improve. Also extracurriculars are extremely important to them, sports, volunteering, student council all that good stuff, and on ur application list everything that you do, cause everything counts for something. good luck

1 or 2 C’s won’t hurt your chances as long as your other grades are great. However, if you are really trying to get into Chapel Hill, you should probably aim for at least a 3.8 GPA. And, it would probably help to get involved in some extracurriculars.

Good luck! Make sure to study hard and only get A’s and B’s.
