animals take food into an internal cavity or stomach for digestion (I do not know if all have “mouth.”)

animals take in oxygen in the process of respiration

All of the 4 choices have elements of truth. If I had to choose only one, I would select “D.”

D, it says what an animal is (all the others merely say what it is not). Note, most of these definitions are technically wrong
