When you were in high school, did you ever skip any of your classes?

I did a couple of times, but I could count them on one hand, with a couple of fingers left over.

Yep. I skipped a couple of classes, especially those that dealt with something I already knew. The one I really enjoyed skipping was English lit, and the reason for skipping was to go to a movie with my friends and watch Laurence Olivier play the role of Romeo – which happened to be the book we were studying.

Yes I once upon a time skipped bigtime. There was this thing where they would call your parents on the THIRD unexcused absense before they called your parents. Or after your FIFTH excused with a note (I was excellent at writing them) they would actually call and make a deal of it.

I got busted. School blew. But I was able to show that even tough I spent lots of time playing video games (80s) mostly I was spending time in the library. Yes I was the big geek. What it came down to was even to this day I think about it….. my Dad had a hard time figuring out what to do. Crap….. my kid is skipping school but he goes to the library after mucking about.

Now 20 years doing something tough in the Army and almost finishing a PHD. Skip for no reason…….. college, future, trust with parents? Money from parents? You pay later.

Yes, once, back in 1966 I took a normal senior skip day. I enjoyed school and never had the desire to cut classes. I realize today that that feat was fairly amazing, but that was how I felt back then. If it was today, knowing what I do now, I probably would have cut a lot of classes. Who knows?

Absolutely not. In high school, college, and grad school, I only cut one college class (sickness is not a cut) and that was one English class on a Saturday morning. I had been invited to a “Big Weekend” at Vassar College and cut the class to attend it.

By the middle of 11th grade, I was only going to art class.

Somebody should have kicked my rear end.

I changed schools, shaped up, and graduated after summer school … a year early.

Another big mistake, considering how immature I was!

i could continuously bypass math in my freshman and sophmore years. Haha. final college one year my hs desperate to start RPCing you for being late whether you only entered after the bell. You werent allowed to flow to classification except a determine/parent signed you in. It became so ineffective reason human beings have been nonetheless late. D;
