What should I do?
1.) I take accelerated math. Go on a team that has a lot of my friends but not the best teacher.
2.) I take regular math. Go on a team with really good teachers and only one of my friends.

If you think advanced math is too much for you, don’t take it. If you think you’d be too far ahead in regular math, don’t take it.
The teachers will probably grow on you. Even if they don’t, you can always change levels as the year goes on.
And if you take regular math, you already have one of your friends with you, so you’ll at least know SOMEbody. And I’m sure you’ll make friends.
So put the teachers/ friends issue aside, and just focus on what level YOU think you’re at.
If you think you can then option 1 sounds like the way to go, you can always ask the teachers for extra help and I’m sure they would be willing to spend time with you before or after school. That would make up for them not necessarily being the best teachers in class. Its always better to take a harder course if and only if you can do well in it
If you don’t think you can then option 2. You’ll be able to make more friends and still spend time with your old friends on the weekends and what not
best of luck
Take option 1. I am an MIT alum who worked in the admissions committee and I can tell you that taking accelerated classes is an indication that you are proactive about learning and that’s what colleges want to see.
A ‘C’ grade in an accelerated course is better then an ‘easy A’ in a regular class. The teacher is just a relationship you will have to learn to manage.
High school is also about fun, so enjoy your time with your friends.
it’ll pay off in the long run
plus so what
if your teachersabitch?
pull off some pranks with your friends
