What’s difference between Honor and CM classes?

When I was in Maryland public high school, there was no Honor classes, instead, there were CM classes…

Are CM classes and Honor classes same thing? or somewhat different??

Now I’m in North Carolina public high school, and there is no CM classes in here, instead, Honor classes..

I thought CM and Honor classes are same thing..

But when I saw my transcript, It only gave me normal class’ credit for classes that I took as CM in Maryland…instead honor’s credit.

Shoud I talk about it with my counselor? I’m senior now..

p.s.) I remember that CM was abbreviation for Certificate Merit of something like that…
