What do you think of 3 AP classes…?

I’m planning on taking 3 AP classes next year, I’ll be a Jr. They are US History, Chemistry, and Biology. I’m also signed up for a college level pre-calc class.

I still have a job that I work 2-3 days a week and I play the violin. I usually have a lot of extra time because I don’t really have (or care about) a social life.

I just want to know how this sounds. A few of my friends say this sounds crazy, but they don’t know anything about AP classes.

If you’ve taken AP classes or are a teacher and have tips or advice I’d love to hear them. Thanks

I just took 3 AP classes this past year, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be even though I’m really involved in an extracurricular activity. You’ll definitely have to work harder than in previous years but it’s not crazy.

Take all 3 AP classes, you will learn from the best teachers in your school, it will be better for you once you go to college and can skip those classes, and it will be good preparation to get you ready for how they teach college courses. Drop or reduce your violin playing and work hours if you need. You will probably have lots of reading assignments especially for the history and biology class, and lots of homework for the chemistry class. It will move fast b/c the teacher won’t dumb it down for the slowest person in the class, so don’t fall behind. Save time by learning to take good notes, study smart by studying in groups.

That’s an ambitious schedule, but taking 3 AP classes in one year isn’t unheard of. I knew people in high school who did it without major problems.

If you’ve had good grades to this point and you can cut back on your job and violin playing if necessary, go for it.
