Do you already have a few colleges picked out? If not, http://collegeboard.com and http://actstudent.com have great college search tools if you make an account on their websites.

Start looking at scholarships, if you haven’t already. http://collegeboard.com and http://fastweb.com have scholarship search tools on their websites (make an account).

Have you taken the SAT and/or the ACT? If not, you need to sign up ASAP! Colleges will want those scores!

study hard but don’t forget to have fun! this is the best time of your life!

stay focused and don’t get senoritis. Plan for the future. If college bound, get applications in by deadlines, and don’t forget about financial aid or scholarships deadlines.

e STUDY! Don’t let people tell you that senior school is easy, because it’s difficult. Keep on check with your h/w, and (this is v. important) make friends with the right people. Don’t get involved with a gang of people who don’t treat you as friends should.

School is fun, if you make it!! Don’t think that it’s all boring. It honestly is the best time of your life. Studying with friends, getting good grades….it’s all part of your futture.

Think of it this way…what you do at that school will shape your future, so make it worthwhile!!

take your act or sat if you’re going to college….if you haven’t already taken one of these tests sing up to collegeboard’s website and they’re really good with reminding you of deadlines and when to take tests and getting your scores in to the schools you applied to as quickly as possible….

meet all of your college deadlines….shop for dorm stuff (but that comes later in time) do your homework (cause that’s important when you’re a senior) don’t get a big load of senioritis….stay away from them boys too, they can be a distraction sometimes…..and have fun….its your senior year, enjoy it, you’re about to create lifelong memories for yourself…..

i wish you well this school year and i hope all of these answers were helpful to you…. GOOD LUCK!

Take a variety of types of classes. Colleges look for a well-rounded individual. Join some clubs, like Chess club, or whatever you’re interested in. Document everything you do, including any awards you win. If your grades are high, join an honor society.

Do some volunteer work, and document where you’re volunteering, and the name of the person in charge- you will need this info for your resume. Do as much as possible, in as many places as possible- ex: 20 hours in a food bank, 30 hours in a battered women’s shelter, etc. If possible, donate blood, as often as you can. These things show a committment to community, and are a good character reference.

Keep all of the documentation you are building in a file folder for handy reference.

Ask adults in your life who know you and are not relatives if you can use them as a reference. Make a list, and keep it in your college file.

Prep well for your SATs. The best help I’ve ever seen is The Princeton Review’s “Cracking the SAT”. Take your SATs early- this will not only help if you want to apply to schools early, but if you don’t do as well as you like, you’ll have time to retake them.

Research colleges to attend. www.petersons.com is a good place to search through colleges, and helps by categorizing colleges according to size, location, setting, cost, academics, and more. Once you have narrowed your choices down to 10 colleges, request information packets from those colleges. Review the packets, and narrow your choices down to no more than five.

Once you have your five favorites, go online hunting for student message boards for students attending those colleges. Ask them about the admissions process, what to expect in the interview, what they did right, what they did wrong, and any positives and negatives about the school NOT listed in the brochures.

Good luck!

I’m a senior too. =)

Tour colleges and decide which ones you want to apply to.

Take the ACT/SAT/SAT subject tests if you haven’t yet and see what the requirements for each of the schools you’re applying to are.

Start working on your personal statement.

Keep up with your extracurriculars.

Keep your grades up.

Don’t just slack off, take challenging courses as it looks more impressive and will better prepare you for college.

Apply for scholarships, grants, etc.

And of course, most importantly, have fun and spend a lot of time with friends!!

Study to prepare for those SAT tests, make your plans to enroll in a college or university of your choice. Apply for scholarships, government grants and even student loans if the rising costs of tuition, books, supplies and other expenses far exceeds the estimated amount.
