What are locker safe lunches to send to school?

My child is starting middle school and we were told to pack a lunch for at least the first couple days.

NO PICKLES!!!!! The locker will stink for a whole month and the lunch box. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich is the way to go(not too much jelly). Any prepackaged lunch stuff that you can get at a store nearby like: chips, fruit cups, jello, gummys. My mom just bought some new heavy nylon, velcroe closing lunch bags that have an ice pack built in the inner walls of the bag. You freeze it the night before you use it. It doesn’t smash the sandwich because it opens wide and unfolds at the bottom for more space. Good Luck!!! 🙂

Non-perishable foods are locker safe, as are those that can last a few hours with a cool pack. Avoid egg and dairy products as they don’t do well without refrigeration. Put an ice pack in the lunch box and include foods such as an apple, or bannana, cut vegetables such as carrots or celery, a granola bar, bottled water or juice, a sandwich, crackers, etc.

they have small plastic freeze blocks that keep stuff cold for a long time. if you freeze or semi freeze a water bottle or juice box it will also help keep the lunch stuff cold / as it thaws out by lunch.

if you aren’t using one of those , i would think that american cheese singles like Kraft onces do not need refridgeration. cheese and bread sandwiches with an apple . peanut butter /jelly.

you can take a thermos and put chilli in it or soup and it will stay warm. you can send crackers or a nice crusty roll along and some fruit. a thermos can also have boiled water and a hot dog. bun on side. chips. fruit.

cheese crackers or peanut butter cracker packages/ granola bar and a fruits , grapes / apple, plum, banana. you know your child and what they will eat . basically they just need as good as nutrition as possible balanced with what they will actually eat.
