Subject choices…..?
I have a friend who is doing the Diploma Programme (International Cirriculum- IB) and she’s is a bit confused about which subjects to take. For those of you who don’t know, you need 3 Higher levels (HL) and 3 Standard Levels (SL) (6 subs overall), however one can take 4 HL and 2SL (and drop one).
So, this is the thing:
She originally wanted to take HL maths, chem, biology and the rest in SL, but now she wants to take SL chem and HL business. Her mom says that she should take both in HL so she’ll have 4 HL and 2 SL, then once she starts, she can see how it goes and if one gets a bit tough then she can drop it (without a problem- cause you need 3hl and 3 sl anyway).
A little about her, she’s really good in business (one of the top in the class) and chemistry is not really a strong point but she’s not too bad.
If anyone has any constructive advice it would be awesome to hear…..

The main concept is that she would want to study subjects that are beneficial to her after she completes the programme, for example: a person wishing to one day become a doctor although wouldn’t mind going through the business pathway to eventually lead into becoming a doctor, would most likely take HL Maths, chem, biology, and business related subjects. 🙂
