Yes, I do think that teachers and ALL personnel in a school should be drug tested by an outside source on a regular basis. I do some work in a high school in which the PRINCIPAL comes in inebriated (DRUNK) from alcohol everyday. How effectively can she manage a large inner city high school in this altered state of mind? What kind of example is she to children who already have compounded life problems?

You know what…that’s a good question. Nurses, doctors…hell even the receptionist who work in hospitals, nursing homes and doctor’s offices have to be drug tested. If you want the nurse who takes care of your kids when they are sick to be drug free….wouldn’t you want the teacher that spends 8 hours everyday, 5 days a week who molds how you child think and teaches your child things that they will carry with them for life to be drug free???

I am a teacher assistant. Yes we should be drug tested. I have 2 children 1st, 2nd grades. I don’t want anyone useing drugs to teach or try to teach my children.

Hell yeah. In my private school that i went to, you could tell that some teachers were on drugs. (the school didn’t drug test them) Teachers would also pop pills in class, take smoking breaks before school, after school, and during school. Teachers also gave students pills occasionally.

The teachers where I live are drug tested and they do a fingerprint and federal background check.

I do think they should be tested. I work in a grocery store and I have to be tested…and the only thing I touch that goes into your home is your groceries. Accountability…that’s all it is!!!
