Also if the student does nothing but sit and stare or talk to his or her crush in the classroom during lecture, then the teacher will mostly likely connect the dots.

Other than that I don’t see how a teacher can find out these things and actually keep tabs and discuss it with the rest of the school staff in the teachers lounge.

Teachers do have to watch the students to see if they are paying attention, so it would be likely that the teacher notices if you are flirting instead of paying attention to her. And teachers tend to not like the competition, you know.
