confused about career choices!! please help!!?

i am currently a high school world geography teacher. i got into teaching after TREMENDOUS pressure from my wife, who is a teacher along with her parents, siblings, aunts, ect. i knew from my first day in the classroom that teaching wasn’t for me.

prior to teaching i was a mortgage loan officer. i absoloutly loved my job, but living off of commission can be very unstable and downright frustrating at times. the instability in my income was leading to financial tension in the home, hence the change to the more stable teaching careeer.

here is a snapshot of my background:

education-b.a. sociology and an a.a. in liberal arts

professional experience-2 yrs experience as a mortgage loan officer.

teaching experience-1 yr as a high school world geography teacher

other experience-2 yrs as a in school suspension teacher, 1 yr working with individuals with mental retardation.

can any body think of a stable $45K plus career for a person with my background and education?

Go back and get enough hours to become qualified to teach special education or get your administrative hours. This country is crying for good people in both areas.
