school uniform?

now its the summer holidays my mum and dad have introduced a new kind of punishment for me and my sis, wearing uniform, before when we got grounded they couldnt stop friends calling for us, but now we dont want to go out becuase they make us wear it properly, ties up shirts in everything, my mum even takes us into town dressed like it!! :O (skirts and shorts aswell!)

we cant just get changed coz shes taken all our clothes away, and she thinks that me and sarah will get on better if she punishes us both for what the other one has done, its stupid … and boring… and hot… ( blazers are always on)

Just act like it doesn’t bother you. That is what I do with any of my parents punishments. If they think you two are “getting along” or whatever they are trying to do they will think it worked. Trust me!

I understand you think the punishment does not fit the crime but look at it from a different perspective: Your parents want the best for you. They want you to grow up with morals and a value system where you can think for yourself and do the right thing – develop character as you mature toward adulthood. It’s a parents duty to punish when you don’t do what they have ASKED you to do. You have made a choice. Punishment would not be issued – if the responsibilities had been met. Now – think about it – is wearing a ‘uniform’ THAT BAD? What if you did not have clothing at all? If you had worked with them before and told your friends that you were on punishment and could not accept their calls – they would not have to find further ways to establish better conduct from you and your sister.

Take the puinshment with a smile and live with it. Know that there is something in place to keep you and yours in line. If you step outside – face the music. You sound mature enough to know better. Just do the right thing. Your parents are not trying to make your life miserable – just want you to be responsible and caring young women.

Even if it sounds unfair – you and your sister have the responsibility to talk about it – and act accordingly. You don’t have to take your sister’s punishment if she doesn’t mess up and vice versa. Establish between you that you will do what is right and proper and not give your parents any grief.

If your parents did not love you – they would let you do what you wanted and have your way – it’s because they love you that they want to make sure you learn what is right and what is wrong.
