I have applied to a school district in Michigan, T–Y. as a substitute teacher, but everytime I try to talk to the woman who hires the subs, she tells me that she will review my files,and then she will call me. She won’t ever call me like she says she will. When I call her she says things like I am too busy to call you or I forgot, I was going to today. This has been going on for weeks. I looked on the school’s website and found only non minority pictures of teachers. I didn’t see one just one picture of a minority teacher or other supporting staff. I am beggining to wonder if they just don’t welcome minorities in their district? Please don’t take this the wrong way, I know everyone isn’t predjudice, and everything shouldn’t be given to me because I’m a minority, but shouldn’t I at least be considered? I am Highly Qualified under NCLB. I shouldn’t just be ignored, or least I feel I am? Any suggestions. Please don’t be mean!
