What would be a good gift for a friend going to a boarding school?
It’s a performing arts boarding school.
I was thinking of filling a shoe box with things like a diary, picture frames, a musical dvd and stuff like that. What else could go in the box?

I think your ideas are great. Also Stationary. Maybe some things relating to performing arts. Some snacks/junk food.
I would also decorate the shoe box so she could use it for storage while there. You can do that by going to a scrapbooking store and getting different types of papers to cut out. Also using fake flowers or pictures/words from magazines. Basically anything, just be creative. I made photo boxes like that for a few friends for christmas and they loved it.
