Middle Schoolers- PLEASE HELP?

Ok, so what is a good incentive to come to school? We are doing raffles for an ipod, starbucks, movie tickets, etc, however we want to do something small for those that come on a daily basis??? What do you think? What would you look forward to getting for coming to school?

Candy is an obvious inexpensive answer, but our district is NO SUGAR. This means no suckers, candy, chocolate, licorice, etc….

I was thinking temporary tattoos, colored pens? What do you like?

Talk to an administrator about throwing a few more school functions like parties or dances.

Quite frankly you shouldn’t have to use incentives to get kids to come to school. It’s a shame that they take the right to an education for granted. Those who want to come should, and they will spend the rest of their lives as successful adults with a prosperous future. If you don’t make an effort, you shouldn’t be rewarded.

Also, if you guys eat in a cafeteria, you could ask if like one day out of the month, they could serve some cake or something. It’s not like you’d be serving it everyday.

Good luck with the attendance problems! Remember, it’s their choice to come to school; don’t feel like you should have to get them to come! The smart ones will sill go to become smarter! Best wishes! 😀

That is utterly ridiculous.

You don’t provide an incentive to come accept the FREE education provided to them by the government. It’s a privilege, and if they choose to ignore it, it’s their loss. Maybe shoot them in the lung and tell them if they don’t go to school, they’ll end up getting shot again.

Seriously…

those are really good incentives. you could also set up an in-class pizza or ice-cream party for the class with the most students with good attendance (at the end of the week). free luches too. small stuff could be pencils, erasers, wristbands, etc.

Why do you want them to go to school? If they want to wreck their lives, let them. The world needs more kids to flip burgers.

Focus on the ones who want to learn and let the rest go. You can’t save everybody, and classroom sizes are too big anyway.
