Male or Female Principal?

Should schools be under the direction of male principals or female principals? What is your opinion and why do you think so?

From my personal experience, I have been a teacher with 2 male principals and 1 female principal. I really prefer having a male principal because they do not try to micro-manage as much. The female principal I had was on some kind of power-trip and wanted to make everyone teach her way, even if it did not fit with their personality.

(I am not saying that there are not any good female principals out there, or that all male principals are good, I am just saying that my personal preference would be to have a male principal.)

I don’t think it matters as both can offer different qualities to a school. However I do think that any all boys schools should have a male principal and an all girls school should have a female principal

Doesn’t matter. It depends on the person. I have had male principals that were good and some that were bad. The only female principal I ever had was in kindergarten. But I did have a female superintendant and she was horrible.

It does not matter. The difference that you should look at is whether it is a good or bad principal. The Principal is the very important determinant of a child’s education.

I have only had one principal and she is great. I have talked to many other teachers with years of experience and most of them have said that it is easier to work for a male principal.

I think the gender question is beside the point. What one needs is leadership. There are many male principals who also micromanage their staffs. Our female principal is the BEST!

I don’t think it really matters one way or the other as long as they’re qualified for the job. I had a fantastic female principle when I was in school and I also had a male principle that was great as well. I don’t think it should matter what gender they are as long as they’re qualified to do the job.

It doesn’t matter. As long as they do their job and support their teachers what is between their legs has no relevance to how well they do their job.
