I think I failed a test, confusion, how to explain to teacher?

I took a physics test today, and I usually do good in that class, but on the test today…I really could not focus and was confused. Lots of things have been on my mind, and today I was able to step back when I came home and figure it out. I feel so much better now, but I’m worried that I failed the test. I don’t want my teacher to think that I didn’t understand the concepts or him to feel bad. What can I do to tell my teacher in a way that doesn’t sound like I’m just making excuses? I really just wasn’t thinking straight for a while now, and my test experience served as a wake up call that I needed to change my thinking and view on the world.

If you usually do well in class, I don’t think the teacher will feel like you’re making excuse and probably won’t make too much of a fuss . They may be a bit surprised and ask, ‘What happened?’, but if you just explain simply that you had a lot of things on our mind and was out of focus, but have managed to get it together and promise it won’t happen again, I’m sure the teacher won’t think too much about it, as they know you usually do not delibrately perform badly. And do well on tests hereafter to prove it!!

I think you need to tell the teacher what you just wrote. Take the grade whatever it is and just let him know that you do know the material

Just tell your teacher exactly what you wrote here.
