Well.

I am now in my second year of highschool.

If you are going to a highschool where you will know people then hangout with them at the start and then ease into making new friends.

Academic wise; stay on track. Your teachers will not make sure you pass like your teachers in middle school do. Trust me.

If your a freshmen…

Respect the upperclassmen. Seriously.

If they nickname you freshman don’t say they were freshmen once too. They know.

Being picked on comes with being new.

Just have fun.

Be yourself.

If it is large, and most are, find a sub-group or you will feel lost. Sub-groups could be band, choir, athletics, drama, whatever your interest. Not saying you can’t make friends who have other interests but it is HARD in such a big group, easier in smaller group.

Learn good study habits now if you don’t have them yet. I went to college completely unprepared for the study levels and flunked 3 classes before I figured it out (I wasn’t partying, I just wasn’t studying!).

Good luck and have fun!

Just be sure to ALWAYS do your homework and study for tests. And don’t subject to peer pressure, such as having sex, drinking, smoking or drugs. Don’t do things just to be cool like everyone else. Be yourself.

Chill. It’s like junior high but more chill.

Do your homework, though.
