How can I cope with school anxiety?

Last year I did so well in all of my classes that I eventually chose horribly hard classes for this year (10th grade) in the same school . I have 5 honors classes, 1 ap (history) in a total of 8. I’ve just spent the first day of school but I’m feeling terrible. I used to study in classes as hard but it was 2 years ago. I never had many friends, and I don’t really know if it was one of the factors that caused my anxiety. Also, I left my mom in LA to continue school in TX about 2 weeks ago, and that still affects me. How can I get out of this mess and continue studying properly? I desperately need help. I’m a straight A student and I don’t want my anxiety to get in the way.

5 honors class and an AP? Personally I’d say if you want to they can also replace your levels like put you in the next highest class under honors if that’s possible because from what it sounds like the workload from that volume of classes is going to be a lot for you.

Another thing that could relieve some of your anxiety is if you make some friends too. There’s a lot of people in high school so there should be someone there that you can talk to at least. And if all else fails you can use the internet to open a MySpace page or something like that. Having friends there to talk to can really make a difference in things.

And as for your mom I’d say call her once in a while. The support you get from your parents really can’t be matched and they can support you through a lot of stuff. Call her and keep in touch, if you lose them it’s like you lose a very valuable item that can’t be replaced.

Yeah that can happen when you get too cocky! Lol. But anyways, getting mediocre grades in AP classes is worse than getting all A’s in regular classes. If the work is too hard for you, seriously think about transferring to another class. I heard AP is really difficult and you should wait unitl next year to take them. Honors classes are good for now. They are the bare minimun colleges look for since they like you to be slightly above the average. If you pick classes that are slightly too easy for you, than you will suceed and get very good grades, which colleges dig! Good Luck.

Fight someone. It will only increase your self-esteem thus making your moral go up and make you more sure of yourself.
