I’m starting high school in 2 days. Any advice??

Summer’s comin to an end. Back to the books!

I’m starting my freshman year of high school in a couple days, and I’m not quite sure what I’m asking, but does anyone have any advice? maybe things you know from experience? we have a huge new school, so I’m super excited, but also a little nervous! so advice on either social stuff or education would be great! thanks~

well i’m starting high school monday, so maybe i can help.

– just try to focus on school and your schoolwork/homework. i mean this is high school. it’s when your grades really start to matter.

-try to get involved in extra curricular activities. it’ll help you meet new people and it’s a good way to get involved. plus it’s good for college applications.

-don’t give into peer pressure. there will be a lot of it in high school. just be your own person and be confident.

-just be yourself. i know it’s cheesy, but it’s SO true! you will be meeting new people and making new friends. you want to show people the real you. don’t try to act like some one you’re not to make friends. you’ll become friends with the wrong people and you won’t be comfortable around them

-don’t become a bimbo to get guys. it doesn’t work. they will take advantage of you. and then you will be known as a sl*t.

-stay close to your old friends while trying to make new ones at the same time. but never abandon your old friends.

-don’t get involved in drama. just be nice to everyone and try not to become enimes with anyone

hope i helped. good luck =]

I’m going to be a junior this year (but I feel so young to be an upperclassman!!)

Here’s my advice:

If you’re nervous, just hang in there until you get through a week. Once that first week is through, you’ll know the school and your schedule well enough to feel comfortable about everything that’s going on.

All of the hype about upperclassmen ‘hazing’ the freshman is usually just that– hype. Everyone in that school was a freshman before you, and not too long ago.

And above all, enjoy yourself!! Freshman year is the easiest high school year academically… so i suggest taking advantage of that and joining a club or two that interest you- that’s possibly the best way to meet new people. So just be yourself and enjoy it hun!

Good luck,

dont worry about it. i started high school last monday (the 20th) and it really wasnt anything special. i know yout think its going to be scary and your gunna get lost or that its gunna be super exciting and you get to do all these new things, i thought that stuff too, but it really wasnt scary at all, i never got lost, and pretty much all the rules and stuff are the same, you just have a locker and homework on the first (or 2nd at least) night.

Get organized. Get a calendar system where you can keep track of daily assignments, long-term assignments, test dates, etc.

Don’t fall behind your reading and homework. You may be assigned something due in three days, so don’t put it off.

Find one club outside of your normal interests and join it.

Make some new friends. Don’t just hang out with only people you already know.

Good luck!
