You do know there are ways for you to try and make it a National Day of Rememberence rather than boycotting school for that day, right? Let’s try and have our country work for us instead of the other way around. Contact your local government!

As much as I want to agree with you, kids get back to schoo after labor day, nobodys gonna give em a holiday right after school starts. But Just remembering the heroes and the lost on 9/11 should be sufficient enough.

my hs is a five min walk from the twin towers

i disagree. we should still have school.

you guys realize, memorial day for MOST people have turned into a day where we have no school and waste time at home instead, watching tv, playing games. the whole point of memorial day is actually gone.

the same will go for 9/11. after a few years, people will just think of it as a day to sleep in and do nothing.

why not just go to school and make our lives productive, im sure the people who died would appreciate that more.

I live in Connecticut so a lot of the parents work in New york and i remember watching the towers fall on the TV during school. I remember parents taking their kids home and everyone worried about their parents. It was an absolutely awful day, but i do not think that this is the way to remember it. We go to school on the date of pearl harbor, we go to school on the date of D-day, we even go to school on the date of columbine. I think the best way to remember it is to go to school and learn about what happened, the reasons behind it, and what is happening now because of it.

I feel for every individual who was effected by 9/11 but you are nuts…we wouldn’t do anything if we did things like this for tragedies that have happened…why don’t we take the day of the Trojan war off?…suck it up, sober up, and get to school

Are you just using 9/11 as an excuse not to go to school?

I agree what happened that day was terrible but we can’t live in fear–that’s what they want us to do!!! Anything can happen on any day at any time–should be just stay home and let fear rule our lives?????
