I’m so nervous about going into high school…What can I expect?

Life is downhill after high school :-p
Anyway, THIS is the time to break out of the wrapper, push the envelope, and go against the current–if you’re a jock, be a nerd—if you’re a nerd, be a jock–if you’re conservative, join a protest—volunteer for different school activities, join a school club you never thought you would, try for the school play/musical, you just might find your life-vocation by accident. This is when it happens, and it’s lots more fun than getting straight “A’s”.
2. Talk and make friends with everyone, don’t think that you will have to be friends with only freshmen because you are a freshman. High school is meant to encourage mingling and it’s good to have a wide range of friends because you never know when one might come in handy. (Especially seniors, who might just help you avoid a senior prank.)
3. You can achieve it, but only if you do all your homework and study for your finals, which occur at the end of a semester and are usually around 20% of your *final* class grade. Many freshmen don’t do well their first year because they’re adjusting to no longer being babied as much by teachers and wanting to appear like cool high school kids by ditching class to hang out with friends. While friends are important, grades are even more important and should be a top priority. Even if you find the class challenging, you can usually pass with a low A so long as you do all your homework.
When you reach your junior year I suggest entering in a few AP classes. Although it’s intimidating to enter one because it’s a “college-level” course, they are usually a lot better than a regular class because everyone–the teacher included– are more focused, and (if you do well on the AP exam) it can help you skip a few introductory classes when you go to college, which will save your family money.
Also, DON’T catch senioritis. Chances are you will have a senior in at least a couple of your classes whose contageous senioritis will begin to spread through out the room as the year nears its end and graduation rears its end. It’s tempting, but try your hardest to avoid it. As you get older you will find yourself even more likely to catch it but you must do your best to stay healthy and away from it because it can really screw you (and others) over.
To get straight A’s is simple all you need is one thing DISCIPLINE b/c high school is not that hard. Its hard trying not to hang with Ur friends b/c u have homework(u know stuff like that).
Also trying to have fun or else u’ll be miserable all of ur high school years. Don’t take too serious, just enough.
And finally don’t act like high school events are the biggest thing in this world..like prom, homecoming dance and homecoming game etc. A lot of people get lost in that aspect of high school, also in stuff like “lets be cool” type things and then they end nowhere.
P.S “papyrusbtl” life is not downhill after high school if so then i feel sorry for u. I’m 21 yrs old, no parents to worry about or yellin. I just do what i want when i want …how is that worst then high school, when still r treated like a little kid?
enjoy while learning!!
