If it’s your own college then ask who ever is in charge about their security procedures. Also ask them what is lax, or ask others what is lax. Our college has it’s own police dept. They have 911 emergency boxes at every dorm.(outside) You could ask, do the police walk the grounds during the day and also at night as well as driving around? Are there frequent attacks or breakins at the school, are there video cameras inside and outside of the school? Is there a shuttle that takes the students to and from school at night? (picking them up from home and taking them back, is there someone to walk them to a car. How/what is their plan to lookout/protect the students? What about e-mail scams, fraud, theft how are they protecting agaisn’t that. Is the campus opened or closed? What’s the percentage of being safe to not being safe, or (accident free) Campus’s don’t alway report everything. Is there enough patrol around? is there a safety plan in place that the students know about? what about fires, tornados? What if there is a situation like Va Tech. Not everyone has a cell phone how would those students be reached in a crisis situtation. There are many questions to ask, and you can always think of something. Colleges are just mostly at your own risk. I don’t think they take many precautions to protect you. You go to college because you want to, so I think it’s an at your own risk situation (which shouldn’t be) they should protect those who spend money at their college. They take enough out for dorm, and athelics fees, why not take more $ out for security?

Well first pick a side. Do you feel campus have enough security and are safe…. Or do you feel that there not? There are so many stories on campus crimes you can mention. What could be changed to secure safer campus for students? Like more lights? Emergency buttons all around campus? Locked doors that need to have card or password to get into after a certain time. I know when I was staying at my friends dorm, I had to fill out paper work, show id and sign in and out every time we came and went. It was a pain but I know it’s so they can keep track of everyone in a safe way.

come on now……certainly you know how to use the internet! pick a search engine and put in college campuses and security and I’d bet there are thousands of sites to use. There have been recent HUGE national incidents dealing with this>>>Virginia????? and the guy who went on a killing spree>>>that will give you a HUGE start. I don’t mind helping, but YOU are gonna have to do the research and get your own grade.
