Hi ab! I can understand exactly how you feel.. I’ve been there too… When I asked my teacher the same question.. her answer was ” BE YOURSELF”! You need to know what you love to do the most… do you like techno. stuff??? or.. designing..? We all have a God given gift in us and each one of us is unique in his/her own way! When i finished school, i realized that my hobby was sharing knowledge. I also loved designing clothes… A few years later I found out that teaching children was a very special experience to me. I never get tired of it. Its my hobby and i love my job. What you need to do is search your heart. What do you think you would love to do ALL your life? How can you describe yourself..? Don’t try and be someone else and don’t choose a career because it gives you a lot of money. Life is not exciting always.. there are a lot of challenges that’ll come your way but if you make wise decisions, you can avoid a lot of disappointments. I hope this has been of some help to you and I pray that God will direct your path! 🙂

For an interesting rewarding and one of the highest paid in the field I suggest to young people to become a paleoforensics specialist. What you end up doing is figuring what killed different dinosaurs, cavemen, animals and such. I have only heard of two people who are doing this with any success and they are both making big bucks and they both totally enjoy what they are doing. The leading person in this field is a woman making over a million per year and the man who is older only makes about 900,000 per year. So, getting in on the ground floor would seem to be a great specialty to get into today!

You don’t HAVE to know what you want to become, because more often than not, the career we for ourselves when we are in grade 6 is not the career we take up.

But, no harm dreaming…

Close your eyes…(OK, finish reading this and THEN close your eyes!!!!)

Which subject do you love?

Science….Math….History….Literature…..the list goes on….

Which aspect of human life do you love?

Children…..The Mind…. Happiness….Power… .Danger…. etc …. etc…

Now, think of a profession that will fall under both the categories you have chosen.

Imagine yourself doing the job. Do you feel happy? Do you feel satisfied?

If you are, BINGO! If not, try again!

Then, you can do some research and find a course/university/college that is appropriate….. And,

don’t be afraid to dream!

I think during the summer break you should volunteer at jobs that interest you. You get to see first hand what a day of work looks like. You can decide if you feel at home or if you need to move on.

First, ask yourself, what are your skills? then what are occupations that can relate to your skills? Then you decide whether you really want it or not. if not start from step 1. 😀
