how do i get ready for freshman english??
do u have a spelling test at the beggining of the year????? i need tips to get ready and what some of u guys did

It depends, is it regular English or Honors? Regular English really isn’t that difficult. I don’t think there will be a spelling test right off the bat. But to prepare for high school English classes, try to expand your vocabulary and read more books. They will probably ask you to write a paragraph to asses your writing skills, vocab, grammar etc…

The last spelling test I took was in eighth grade. There is no vocabulary books in high school. Basically you just read short stories from your anthologies and apply your reading strategies. To prepare…? Have you taken English for the past nine years? If so you’ll be fine. English is easy as long as you have decent grammar and spell checker.

You don’t really get spelling tests in High School, hon. You’re expected to know how to spell things in essays and such, or at least that’s how it is at my school. You might get points taken off for misspelling something, but that depends on your teacher and how harsh he/she is. It also depends on the type of class you’re taking; advanced placement, college prep, honors, etc.
