AP exam in high school?

what happens if i het an A, in my class, but then i dont pass the test? or if i do pass it but i get like 3? i dont understand the point value they give to the ap classes?

As I recall it, the class counts for preparation and credit only. It does look good on your schedule, nontheless. As far as the exam, Nearly all colleges and universities accept 4 and 5 scores for exemption credit. Some places will even accept a 3, it all depends on the school.

Many colleges and Universities also have plecement exams as well. Taking the AP exam will aide you in the event you have to take a similar test on campus.

Each school gives credit for different AP test scores. Some schools require a 4 or 5, while others will allow credit for a 3.

The sad thing is that you can get a 100 in the class, and a 1 on the test, and not get any credit for taking the AP level course.

But, that’s the price you pay. It is pretty much understood though, that if you can pull an A in the course (with a teacher who is doing justice to the AP curriculum), then you should be able to receive at least a 4 on the test with little effort, and a 5 if you truly apply yourself.

Don’t worry too much about the exam until it gets closer. Just follow your teacher’s instructions and do your best to master the subject materials and techniques that he/she teaches and you will be A-OK.

My first semester average in AP English my Junior year was an 82 and my second semester average was a 73. I received a 3 on the AP test.

The letter grade in your class goes toward your overall GPA, your high school transcript. The points for the AP exams tell whether or not you will be able to get college credit for that English. Some schools accept a lower score on AP than others and I have heard, but am not sure of the truth, that some major schools won’t accept AP scores at all.

The grade you get in the class will be weighted in your GPA accordingly, the test has nothing to do with that.

The test determines college credit, and your grades have nothing to do with that.
