They’ll be difficult and if you can’t get used to it you might get left behind.

Save some free time for yourself, but if you think you have nothing to do, you really should be doing something! Read ahead if you have time.

if you think your grades aren’t doing well, then ask the teacher if there’s something extra-curricular that you could do…like a book report, or a project that only you do. Explain to your teacher how important the grade is to you and they’ll probably be impressed with the effort you put in.

In addition to this, getting used to putting in your effort will do very well for you in the future in school and in work.

Good for you, and good luck!

Depending on the high school, there are different options for getting an honor’s credit either way. All of my honor credits came not from honor courses, but what is called an Honor’s Contract, which is set up by some high schools to ensure that even if you miss out on the opportunity to be in an honor’s class, you can still get an honor’s credit by just signing the Honor’s Contract and then doing some extra work that the other students don’t have to do. Basically, in a nutshell, that means that you get an honor’s credit for just answering one or two extra problems on tests. That’s my easy way about it.

Now, if your high school does not offer any contracts of that sort, then prepare yourself for a little bit more work, but don’t be too concerned with it. The only difficult part of an honor’s course is adapting to the additional work, but after that you’ll find yourself with enough free time to still pursue any extra activities that you prefer, such as band, football, ect.

Basically, don’t be afraid to take the challenge. The worst that can happen in the Honor’s Contract case is that you get a regular credit instead of an honor’s one (which is why I preferred it, because if you got lower than the expected grade then you still got the regular credit), and the worst that can happen in the case of a regular honor’s course would be that you would get a lower grade then expected. It’s well worth it if you plan your courses out correctly, and can allow you to graduate from college sooner in the long run.

Hope that this helped you a bit.

Honors classes aren’t as hard as they seem to be. I think the only difference between an honors class and a regular class is more work and you work at a faster pace. For exmaple in an honors english class, you would probably read more books, write papers about every book you read, more projects, and go indepth with everything compared to a regular class where you spend like a week on something and just take a test on it. i was scared as a freshman too, but just do your homework and pay attention..and you should be fine.

I took a lot of honors and advanced classes last year when I was a freshman, too. It is hard work, I’m not going to lie, but it definitely is worth it in the end. It helps a lot if you’re organized and you have a good relationship with your teachers, but you don’t have to have the first one to do well. Just make sure that you don’t let the whole “Oh-my-God-I’m-in-high-school” drama crap affect you. Stay strong, confident and focused, and you’ll be fine. Good luck! =)

Honors classes dont necessarily mean more work.

The work may just be harder and the conversations in class a little more advanced. Just make sure to pace yourself with the workload. I am going to be taking math and reading honors next year and was in the middle school honors program as well. Don’t worry about, just work to your best ability.

Honors classes are easy. I’ve been taking them since the sixth grade. All you have to do is keep up in your work because those classes go fast.

honors classes are a waste of time, its basically the same stuff with more work then regular classes, i just graduated HS last month, and i didnt take one Honors or AP class and next month im going to a private college to be a nurse. colleges dont only look for honors or AP they look for the person who is well rounded IE: sports, community service, and Clubs.

i think you will be wasting alot of your time in HS
