School……………………???

I just started school today. I’ve been home-schooled for my whole life, and now I’m going to middle school. How do I get people to like me??

The only thing you can do is to be yourself. Don’t try to be someone who you aren’t just to be popular. Be friendly and talk to people.

Well well, looks like you are stepping into the real world.

Of course you are not going to come up to someone and be like “we got the same shoes, lets be friends”. Then you do not want to be to quiet. Respect the teacher and the students and you are fine. Remeber to share with people that are close to you, not to every Hoe Bow Joe on the block.

Ask people questions about the school and such. It is like an ice breaker for conversation. Ask them what is good about this school. If you are asked a question you must give a detailed answer. By giving a one word answer then you are not letting other people know you. Try to get alot of information about your peers so you know the kids to hang with. The popular crowd is not always the best crowd.

Care what other people think about you. You will be spending some years with them. Make those years good. I am not saying go buy expensive clothes and crap,but try to fit in. Do not stand out too much.

EASIEST WAY TO MAKE FIRENDS-

Sports and other after school activities will help you meet people. Going straight home after school will not help you know people.

i’m with ya sista! i have went to an elementary school all my life and now i’m starting middle school in the private school business. today was my first day. i was sooo nervous! but now it’s not that bad. i tried not to be shy and i smiled a lot and said hi to a lot of people. don’t be afraid to speak up and smile and greet people, that’s how you make friends. also check your appearance, if you didn’t comb your hair or just put a dab of something thick on your face, people may think you’re a slob and not wanna be your friend. so make a good impression and be nice and most importantly BE YOURSELF! i know how it feels to be new and stuff, but you’re a clean slate. that means that no one knows anything about you and they won’t judge you from something you did before.

let me review:

be nice, speak up, smile, greet people, talk, and most last but not least BE YOURSELF!

okay i have been home schooled untill 5th grade and i was really afraid about how different it would be and of course about making friends, in most schools people will come to you they want to get to know the new kid, also you have an interesting story you were home schooled! Just make sure to try to give everything a chance and well just be yourself!

Just be yourself. I’ve homeschooled my whole life and I’m starting college in a couple of years so I can understand that. Whenever I’m out and doing things with new people (homeschoolers or not) I just be myself and be nice. ๐Ÿ™‚ Smile and don’t act shy or that may turn people off. Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

Well of course be yourself first and fore most, but if you mean how to make friends easier. I would suggest trying to join a club or a team if your school has some. They’re great places to meet people with similar interests to you and to make friends. Best of luck

Like most of everyone is saying be yourself. If you try to be a different person drama will come back and bite you in the butt!

Be yourself, always remember that you are your own person and you shouldn’t try to be like anybody else to get them to like you. Talk to people, join clubs that sort of thing and I hope everything goes well for you.

I know it sounds overused, but seriously, be yourself. I wish i had taken that to heart when i started middle school. if it wasnt good advice then everyone wouldnt be telling you that.
