Importance of general knowledge as a subject ??
I want to know why general knowledge( or G.K. as popularly known here in india) is important as a subject for primary education..
What benefits do the students get in studying general knowledge also along with their other subjects..

Without general knowledge you really can’t carry on interesting an intelligent conversation with a broad base of people on general subject. You can only converse on special topics and not necessarily relate to everyone in a group at the same time.
To be an all round person, you need to know a little bit about a broad array of subjects and therefore GK.
