hi im joining the 11th grade in a school in toronto and im new to this place and i wud like to kno how the classes are like for example english im from india so i wud like to know if the change wud be very drastic !! thank you

Don’t worry there will likely be a lot like you in your new school…Toronto is very multicultural. English class in Toronto high school, in my opinion, focuses mainly on studying pieces of literature. We didn’t do a lot of grammar or spelling, probably because they assume you know those things already. I assume you know English, so all you’ll have to do is think about the stories and analyze them. Oh yes, we get assignments to do to, related to the works we’re studying. Welcome to Toronto!

The Toronto curriculum is terrible. Especially English class. We didn’t learn any interesting literature and writing skills. We had spelling tests in the 11th grade for pete’s sake. Terrible schools here.

I just moved here too…im from canada but I know that there are ALOT of people from other country’s here in Toronto and Toronto has many programs for stuff like that so you shouldnt have a problem..
