If you college resume has a bogus whos who on it, you will not get into college. They will see that you are a fraud or an idiot in either case you will not get accepted

They are not legit they did not know if you were on any honor role. They do not care just want your money.

No. They are just scamming you. You give them your address and they sell it to spamers. They will try to sell you a spot in a who’s who but it is just their bogus list for other suckers who fell for it and gave them money.

Who’s Who biographical directories, unscrupulous individuals have created Who’s Who scams that involve the selling of “memberships” in Who’s Who directories that are created online and through instant publishing services. [1] These are essentially thinly veiled scams designed to get individuals to part with their money and not some exclusive directory like the legitimate Who’s Who published by A & C Black, or the Marquis Who’s Who (see New York Times review 2005) which have an elaborate selection process, that was challenged by Forbes [1].

Often the companies that “own” these registries are recently incorporated and the few individuals listed in them (who often post that on their web sites) are people who are having themselves listed as a marketing tactic and the publication in these directories is just a form of vanity publishing.

Often blogs or forum posts that discuss these scams have entries by someone who is stating that they used the directory to make valuable business contacts, but these posts cannot be verified and are like other online reviews that provide no verification of the consumer or user’s identity.

Who’s Who is legit, but it is not a very big honor. Anyone who gets nominated pretty much gets accepted. They are trying to get you to buy the book that has your name in it.

Don’t bother listing this on your resume if you have any other awards/honors. Everyone in college admissions knows that it is really easy to get and they don’t care if you got it. Go out for other contests to fill out your resume. It would be better to list your honor roll and your science fair wins than the Who’s Who.

Yes, that’s one for your college resume. A lot of college bound students make the book–it isn’t amazing or anything, but it is an honor. I graduated in 1990–they’ve been around for a while, and the same company does other Who’s Who lists.

I think everyone in high school gets that honor. It’s some kind of gimmick to get your money. Don’t fall for it.
