Bachelor of Arts, to those who don’t know.

I have a friend who graduated a while back with hers and has yet to get a job. She has looked into teaching and most recently a job as an events director at a university.

That’s one of those questions that should have been asked before you pick a major. An additional teaching ceertificate will allow you to teach in most states. In West Virginia you can teach now…pays not good. You can go into other fields who like the fact that you have a four year degree in anything. I warned my own childen of this. My son’s wife would not listen and got a degree in art……and…..lucky to get anything. A college degree that prepares you to function in a specific field when graduated is best…and even then…a masters in social work pays less than a 2 year degree in nursing. But at least with either degree when you get out you will work. Sorry.

That all depends if the BA is teaching or non-teaching. A non-teaching BA…um, depends on where you live. For me, I went back to school to get another degree so I could find a job. For a teaching BA then teach.

I’ve read somewhere, that a very large number of people working in same kind of sales had a BA in English. The article was talking about sales people, not sales clerks.

Secured a lucrative career in marketing, although I don’t think my BA in English helped me that much!

got a job as a teacher at an NGO school, taught english to those who needed extra help as in extra english classes.

I don’t have a BA in English. What made you think I did?

sorry to say I do not have one. Should have gone to college though.
