For Secondary / High School Biology Teachers – do you know any good “Read Alouds”?
I am looking for passages related to biology that would motivate my students to read and increase their curiosity. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can include books, magazine articles anything…PLEASE HELP.

How about stories about emergency room workers? About scientists who found cures for diseases? Longer works might include biographies of scientists like Pasteur.
Myths about diseases would be interesting reading–old wives’ tales that scientists have put to rest. The Snopes site with urban legends might supply interesting short pieces that you could use to introduce a class.
