Which sentence is correct?
1- Let your shoes be off.
2- Let your shoes be taken off.

Both depending on what verb tense you use in the sentence. Plus in college they expect you to update your English grammar. I just learn that in my writing class and English.

Both are correct. In the first one, the verb is BE and the word OFF is a preposition indicating the state of the shoes. In the second one, BE TAKEN or even BE TAKEN OFF is the verb, indicating the action rather than the state of the shoes. But they can both be considered correct. The second one, in my opinion, sounds better.
